A35 Horse robbery

A35 Horse robbery

Narrator: Maria Jöch Reporter: Theresia Jöch

After the invasion of the Soviet Army in Austria all people were in great fear. The women hid in the barn under the hay, in cellars or in the attic.

The soldiers simply stole everything, jewellery, animals and everything. They entered the houses without knocking at the door and took everything that seemed to be of any use for them.

We had two horses, but the soldiers took them. The horses were nervous, neighed and kept beating around. All the begging didn’t help. Pigs, goats, cows, sheep and chicken were loaded on their trucks and taken away, as well.

In the neighbourhood two farmers wanted to protect their horses and they kept standing in front of them. Brutally, the soldiers shot the men.
