CZ1 German tanks
Narrator: Heike`s mother-in-law Reporter: Heike Knapova
All that happened in the small town called Ivanovice na Hane' in 1939. I was twelve years old. I attended the secondary school in my town. One day I came home from school and wanted to do my homework. My parents owned an old house and I went upstairs into my parents`room.
Just when I had started my work, I heard a terrble noise. I was scared, but I went to the window, opened it and saw one huge German tank after the other. They were German soldiers rolling into the Czech Republik and occupying it.
I kept standing there, very surprised, very sad. A tank looked so huge when one passed. There was this soldier, I looked at him, right into his face, into his eyes, and he looked at me, too. He even turned round when moving on. One tank after the other, lots of them.
