P1 Fear of bombs
Narrator: Maria Biernacka Reporter: Łukasz Biernacki
When people were getting up German soldiers were in neighbouring villages. We were in the garden when we heard German military planes. Polish army wanted to shoot them, but they were afraid, because the planes had got bombs. People were scared, but after few hours the sky was clean and quiet. Then the Russian planes were flying and we were frightened. Some people had learned that the Russians were going to bomb our village so we started to dig a large bunker in the forest. My grandmother, other women and children were hiding in that bunker. We were safe there, so we waited for going home.
After two days we came back home, we were surprised because our houses were robbed and destroyed. It turned out that during our absence the Lithuanian people came and destroyed our houses. They took all our goods and food.
