I23 Learning obedience
Narrator: Ilario Corner Reporter: Eda Corner
My name is Ilario Corner, I live in Fossalunga and I am 72 years old. When World War II broke out, I was too young to join the army, but I have experienced the war:
One day, in July, I said to my mother “I’m going out for a walk.” She replied, “That’s right, but don’t go to the town centre! There are the German soldiers over there! I dearly ask you, don’t go there!” But I did not obey and, walking through the fields, I got near the German troops. Probably they did not see me; nevertheless they fired towards my direction.
Luckily there was a ditch without water nearby and I threw myself into it, but a shot hit me and made my hat fly away.
When there was no danger, I went back home and told my adventure to my parents. From that day on I became more obedient.
